What are organizations?
An organization contains your devices, device groups, content (apps and files) and users.
Can I create and belong to multiple organizations?
Yes. ArborXR's multi-organization functionality enables you to create multiple organizations and easily toggle between them.
Can organizations be nested within a parent organization?
No, organizations cannot be nested within a parent organization. Organizations are "flat" relative to each other.
Note that devices, device groups, content (apps and files) and users are sandboxed within an organization.
Use cases for creating multiple organizations
This is recommended for customers who require their devices, device groups, content (apps and files) and/or users to be sandboxed by client or department.
Example 1:
If you are an XR solutions provider or an ISV with multiple clients and require devices, content and/or users to be sandboxed per client, you can create a separate organization for each client. You can then remotely share apps from the parent organization to the child organizations by leveraging content sharing. For more information about content sharing please see this article. You can (optionally) establish account hierarchy in terms of billing. This is recommended for customers who require their devices, device groups, content (apps and files) and users to be sandboxed by either client or department, but would like to consolidate and manage billing across all their organizations from one place. For more information on establishing billing account hierarchy, please see this article.
Example 2:
If you are enterprise or educational institution with VR deployed across multiple departments and require devices, content and/or users to be sandboxed per department, you can create a separate organization for each department. You can then remotely share apps from the parent organization to the child organizations by leveraging content sharing. For more information about content sharing please see this article.
